Rooted in East Ferris
Meet Rick Champagne
Rick Champagne is a life-long resident of East Ferris and the current Mayor of the Municipality of East Ferris. He is accessible, involved in community life, and focused on practical local leadership.
He has dedicated more than 20 years to municipal politics, serving as a Councillor before being selected by Council as Mayor in 2025. As Chair of the North Bay - Parry Sound Health Unit Board, Rick focuses on health and community supports not only to those in East Ferris, but to 31 other municipalities as well. He is a Past-President of the Ontario Good Roads Association. His past and present community involvement includes the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority, Parks, Recreation and Culture Committee, Public Works Committee, East Ferris Knights of Columbus, the East Ferris Minor Hockey Association, the East Ferris Horticultural Society, and the local 50 Plus Club. He has also chaired senior housing work in the community and remains active on roads and public works issues.
Rick has been part of work that strengthened local health services, including the medical centre residents rely on, and he continues to support road-needs funding, playground opportunities, and funding for a new fire training centre. He believes working well with all levels of government is essential to getting results for East Ferris.
A proud father and grandfather of five, Rick and his wife Nancy are active members of the Nosbonsing Curling Club and enjoy travelling.
Rick is running for re-election to keep serving residents with the same commitment to practical, community-focused leadership.
